A webinar presented by the IBA Healthcare and Life Sciences Law Committee and supported by the IBA Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Committee and the IBA Technology Law Committee.

The sudden deployment of DCTs during the Covid-19 pandemic, based – in many jurisdictions – on exceptional and temporary resolutions, revealed the lack of a general regulatory framework able to guide the use of these new technologies.

This has formed the basis for the development of regulations and guidelines on DCTs beyond the emergency context, with the aim of creating a regulatory framework that can promote the decentralisation of research activities.

In this context, the webinar will focus on the regulation of DCTs and the relevant challenges and grey areas with particular reference to the following topics: the collection of remote informed consent, the shipment and management of investigational drugs at patients’ home, the use of third-party service providers by sponsors and healthcare institutions, as well as data protection issues. As we are limited to 500 registrants, we request that you please only register for this event if you will be attending.
