A webinar presented by the IBA Professional Wellbeing Commission, supported by the IBA Academic and Professional Development Committee
In March 2024, the IBA Professional Wellbeing Commission published the IBA Guidelines for Wellbeing in Legal Education to provide an evidence-based and sustainable approach to improving the wellbeing of law students and staff. This webinar introduces the IBA Guidelines, discusses approaches to implementation and provides practical tips on their use.
Every sector of the legal profession must support lawyer wellbeing and each of us can take a leadership role within our own spheres to change the profession’s mindset from passive denial of problems to proactive support for change. This webinar aims to foster this culture of holistic wellness starting with the law school setting and to encourage all stakeholders (judiciary, legal regulators, legal employers, bar associations, and professional liability carriers) to get onboard. We will provide stakeholders with tools and strategies to support the guidelines and reinforce them in their own settings as student matriculate from classroom to courtroom. Stakeholders and organisations will gain valuable insights and practical approaches to promoting wellbeing, ensuring a healthier future for legal professionals.
