Description
Climate change used to be a topic dealt within or between governments, but as climate change related harms increase and the science of attributing extreme weather events evolves, more and more international corporations are finding themselves confronted with lawsuits concerning their role in contributing to climate change. This multifaceted topic will be approached by the different perspectives of our panellists, including: an overview of international and United States related climate change litigation; new approaches of international non-governmental organisations to climate change; and a case regarding a German energy provider currently being sued for climate change-related damages in Peru.
