Biography

Ambassador Ventura is a Senior Advisor with Albright Stonebridge Group, part of DGA Group, and an Associate Fellow at Chatham House. Currently on leave from the Mexican Foreign Service, he has has held senior diplomatic positions in four Mexican administrations, most recently as Deputy Secretary of Foreign Relations and as Mexico’s lead negotiator in the G-20. He has also served as Ambassador to China and the United Kingdom and Deputy Chief of Mission in the Embassy to the United States. As Under Secretary for North America, he played a central role managing the economic, trade, border, and immigration agendas with the United States and Canada. Earlier in his career, he served as Director-General for Asia-Pacific Affairs, as Chief of Staff to the Foreign Secretary and in Mexico´s missions in Cuba, the United Nations, and the Organization of American States.He is a frequent media analyst on global affairs in Mexican and international media and a participant in global policy forums.
