Biography

Jelena Gudurić [pron. Yeh-leh-nah Goo-doo-rich] Jelena started her career in a leading law firm in Serbia, following which she joined the United Nations in 2007 where she currently holds the position of Senior Rule of Law Officer in the Executive Office of the Secretary-General. Her professional career of over 17 years includes legal and managerial positions within the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, the United Nations Office of Administration of Justice and the Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations. She has lived and worked in her home country Serbia, the Netherlands, Tanzania, Rwanda, and the United States. Jelena has extensive experience in human rights, rule of law, court management, judicial support, trial monitoring, prison inspection, regulatory drafting, United Nations intergovernmental processes, and leading legal teams. She holds an LLM from the University of Belgrade in Serbia where she also passed the bar examination.
