Biography

Joe has served as Assistant General Counsel, M&A and Securities, of PPG Industries, Inc. since September 2018. As PPG’s lead M&A lawyer for the past ten years, Joe has successfully led several dozen strategic acquisitions and divestitures for the company in over 20 countries, including the acquisitions of Tikkurila Oyj in Finland and Consorcio Comex, S.A. de C.V. in Mexico and the sale and spinoff of PPG’s global commodity chemicals business and its European fiberglass business. In addition to his global M&A and securities responsibilities, he currently handles antitrust and competition matters and leads a team of lawyers who are responsible for legal matters for the finance, treasury and human resources functions. Joe also manages commercial legal teams in the United States and Mexico that are responsible for five of PPG’s strategic business units in USCA and all business units in Latin America North. He currently serves as a sponsor to PPG’s LGBTQ employee resource network, of which he was one of the founding members in 2006, and as a pillar lead for the Women’s Leadership Network, of which he was previously a member of the steering committee. Prior to joining PPG, he was an attorney at the law firm of K&L Gates from September 1997 to June 2005 in the corporate and securities group. Joe holds a juris doctor degree from Vanderbilt University and a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Allegheny College.
