Biography

Joanna Reiss is Partner, Co-Head of Impact at Apollo. Prior to joining in 2020, she was Partner at Cornell Capital LLC from its founding in 2013. Previously, she was an analyst at Merchants’ Gate Capital, and began her career at Goldman Sachs in the Investment Banking division before moving to the Merchant Banking Division to invest the GS Capital Partners, GS Loan Partners and GS Mezzanine Partners funds. Joanna is the chairwoman of the board of Smart Start and previously served on the board of directors of Smart & Final, Corelle Brands and Monolith Materials. Joanna graduated with highest distinction from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan with a BBA degree. She is a member of the board of Madison Playgroup.
