Robert F Van Beemen
Biography
Robert is a partner at DRB Group in The Hague, Netherlands, where he combines over a decade of legal and strategic expertise with a passion for integrating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into the legal sphere. At DRB, he advises law firms on international trends, market positioning, strategy, and governance, helping them navigate the evolving legal landscape. Robert’s work at DRB includes developing growth strategies, international referral networks, and ESG initiatives while supporting boards and partnerships during their (semi-)annual retreats. His in-depth knowledge of the Dutch legal market and international trends has been instrumental in expanding the firm’s reach and enhancing its service offerings. Drawing on his prior experience as a Bankruptcy Trustee, where he managed multi-billion-dollar creditor claims, Robert brings invaluable expertise to addressing complex legal challenges and setting new benchmarks for excellence in the field. In addition to his role at DRB, Robert chairs the ESG Subcommittee of the IBA Law Firm Management Committee and is a sought-after speaker and author on developments in the international legal sector, particularly in Governance and ESG. In June 2022, Globe Law and Business published his third book, Building the Sustainable Law Firm: Developing and Implementing an ESG Strategy.
