Biography

Daphné joined the Intellectual Property Department of UCB Biopharma in 2004 and currently holds the position of Assistant General Patent Counsel. She holds a Master & Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry and is a qualified European Patent Attorney. Daphné is currently responsible for providing global IP support to UCB's Research and early development organization and also leads IP Operations. Her expertise and main activities include defining the overall IP strategy of early-stage small molecule programs, patent drafting, patent prosecution, litigation, freedom-to-operate opinions and drafting/negotiation of agreements, related to drug development, as well as the development of internal IP policies and processes for the Global IP Department. Daphné has also been advising and negotiating with the EU Commission the IP framework for the Innovative Medicine initiatives and is a standing member of the Pharma Committee of the International Association for Protection of Intellectual Property.
