Biography

Jasminder Brar is a strategic general counsel and innovation leader with over 15 years of experience at the intersection of law, technology, and business. He is currently providing fractional in-house counsel to Canadian medtech innovators including MyndTec, who is developing advanced non-invasive neuromodulation technologies and AI-assisted methodologies to support and treat damage caused by neurodegenerative diseases. Previously, as General Counsel and Vice President at Titan Medical (TSX/Nasdaq), Jasminder led all legal and strategic initiatives, building an industry-leading patent portfolio and negotiating over US$55M in strategic licensing deals. He established comprehensive legal and IP management programs while steering the company through complex regulatory landscapes, evolving market dynamics and challenging financial markets. A computer engineer by training and consistently ranked in IAM Strategy 300 as one of the world's leading IP strategists, Jasminder brings a unique combination of technical insight and business acumen to his practice. He recently served on the IP Advisory Panel for Intellectual Property Ontario (IPON), helping shape policies and programs that enhance the protection and commercialization of Ontario (Canada) made innovation. Jasminder holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (with Distinction) from the same institution.
