Ridwan Oloyede

Biography

Ridwan is the Co-Founder of Tech Hive Advisory, where he steers the technology policy team and is recognised as a specialist in African data protection. He advises on the global aspects of data protection laws, program implementation, and monitoring. Ridwan is also the Co-Founder of PrivacyLensAfrica and Privacy Bar & Bants, where he uses visualisation and podcasting to draw attention to data protection in Africa. Ridwan's illustrious career also includes influential roles within several esteemed organisations. He is a proud member of the Africa Digital Rights Network, Africa Law and Tech Network, the Africa Data Governance Initiative, and the Privacy Alliance. He also sits on the advisory board of the Continental Approach and is a Trustee at the African Biodata Foundation. Ridwan is a Fellow of Information Privacy with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). He contributes his expertise as a Research Fellow at the African Academic Network on Internet Policy and as a member of the privacy working group at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). He is further esteemed as an expert at the Data Protection Unit of the Council of Europe. In every capacity, Ridwan Oloyede is driven by an unwavering commitment to responsible data governance and a broader mission to ensure that Africa remains at the forefront of the global privacy discourse.
