Philip Kempermann

Biography

Philip Kempermann is a managing partner at Heuking, a major independent full service law firm with more than 400 lawyers, tax advisors and notaries providing legal services across eight offices in Germany, Heuking is one of the major commercial law firms in Germany. Philip was admitted to the Bar in 2006 and specializes in IT and data protection. He advises and represents large national and international corporations on their IT projects, operations and data protection matters. He also supports start-ups with bringing their products to the market. He has a lot of experience with complex international IT projects, helping various companies to successfully negotiate the contracts and complete the projects. Philip has also helped several international organizations with product design in terms of data protection compliance, go to market assistance including contract design and based on privacy by default and by design principles. He is skilled in balancing data protection compliance requirements and still achieving the objectives companies have with their projects. Philip is an active member of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw) and the German Association of Law and Informatics (DGRI). He often speaks and publishes on IT and data protection topics.
