Biography

Manuel Pliego Lawyer, Universidad Panamericana. LL.M, The University of Arizona, (International Trade Law program). PhD Candidate, Universidad Panamericana researching ethics and AI. As Government Affairs Director of Microsoft Mexico, he represents the company before trade associations and works on regulation and public policy. He deals with a variety of topics wiht special focus on AI´s regulation. Manuel also serves as Vice-president of AI of the CANIETI trade association. Manuel possesses extensive experience in regulation and public policy. He has worked in the private and public sectors. In the government, Manuel was part of the Mexican government team in the negotiations of the USMCA. He also led the legal team that drafted a new Regulatory Improvement Law in Mexico. He is a Law Professor at Universidad Panamericana.
