Biography

Montserrat Manzano is a partner in the dispute resolution practice of Von Wobeser y Sierra, S.C., appointed in 2017. She is part of the ESG and Energy & Natural Resources practice groups. Additionally, she co-leads the firm's Diversity & Inclusion and Ethics Committees. Ms. Manzano acts as counsel in international commercial and investor-state disputes. She has experience in a broad range of sectors, including construction, energy & natural resources, and technology. In particular, she has experience in disputes arising from investment and infrastructure projects in Latin America. She also represents clients before Mexican courts in proceedings in support of arbitration. Ms. Manzano also sits as an arbitrator to international commercial disputes and is specializing to arbitrate investor-state disputes. Prior to joining her firm, she worked in one of the most recognized international arbitration and public law practices in Paris. She is a Member to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. Ms. Manzano graduated (with honors) from the Universidad Iberoamericana and holds an LLM from Lucy Cavendish College, University of Cambridge. Additionally, she is an alumni to the ICC Advanced Arbitration Academy for Latin America and former Chair of the Americas Initiative of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration (ITA).
