Biography

Carlos E. Martínez Betanzos is a Partner and head of the Litigation and Arbitration practice at Basham, Ringe y Correa, S.C. in Mexico City. He was previously the IBA Young Lawyer's Committee representative in Mexico. Carlos helps clients with matters in both civil and common law legal traditions and cultures. He focuses his practice on major international arbitrations (commercial and investor-state), cross-border litigation proceedings, domestic litigation, as well as public international law matters. Carlos is recognized by various directories, such as Who’s Who Legal, Legal 500, Best Lawyers and Leaders League. Mr. Martínez completed his Master of Laws at NYU School of Law in 2008 and obtained his law degree (JD) from ITAM in Mexico City.
