Janett Fahrenholz

Biography

Dr. Janett Fahrenholz is the Head of the Regulatory Law Department at Volkswagen AG in Germany. Her department is responsible for providing legal advice in the areas of autonomous driving, cybersecurity, vehicle software implementations, legal compliance of technical vehicle features, electromobility, emissions and CO2 regulations, as well as climate litigations. Dr. Fahrenholz's team operates globally and supports Volkswagen's innovations. Previously, she was responsible for defending complex product liability cases and real estate legal issues worldwide for Volkswagen. Janett Fahrenholz studied law at the universities of Leipzig and Auckland in New Zealand. She earned her PhD from the University of Leipzig and was admitted to the bar in Wiesbaden after completing her legal clerkship. Janett Fahrenholz began her professional career as an associate at Clifford Chance in Frankfurt. Subsequently, she worked for the Lower Saxonian Ministry of Economics and a Dutch gas network operator. Dr. Fahrenholz gained international experience at a law firm in the USA and during various positions at the European Parliament and the European Commission in Brussels and Strasbourg.
