Biography

Xavier Costa, a Partner at RocaJunyent based in their Barcelona office, co-heads the International Department. With a rich experience spanning over 20 years in Corporate, M&A, and Commercial Law, Xavier has built distinguished expertise in joint ventures, business restructurings, venture capital, and private equity transactions, advising a wide array of clients ranging from private entities to public companies. In his role as the Co-Head of RocaJunyent's International Practice, Xavier is committed to delivering legal services to an international clientele, utilizing his fluency in English, Italian, French, Spanish, and Catalan. His extensive experience and time spent living in various countries have provided him with a deep understanding of the legal landscapes in multiple jurisdictions, enabling him to offer nuanced advice that is both insightful and pragmatic. Xavier's deep-seated knowledge in key sectors such as technology, urban mobility, real estate, automotive, and boating has not only earned him consistent recognition by Legal 500 in the Corporate/M&A field but also inclusion among the Best Lawyers in Spain for Corporate M&A. Furthermore, Xavier is the 2024 exclusive contributor for Spain to the Legal 500 legal comparative guide "Investing in”. In November 2023, Xavier enriched his professional toolkit by completing an executive intensive course on negotiation and mediation at Harvard Law School Executive Education. Beyond his professional endeavors, Xavier is a valued contributor to the global legal community, holding memberships with the Barcelona Bar Association (ICAB), the International Bar Association (IBA), and the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA), where he proudly served as President during the 2018-19 mandate.
