Olga Nodarou

Biography

Olga Nodarou’ field of professional expertise is electronic communications and competition law with more than 20 years of experience in “regulation”. In 2001 she joined the legal services department of the Hellenic Telecommunication and Post Commission (EETT), which is both the Greek Regulator and the National Competition Authority with exclusive jurisdiction to apply national and EU competition legislation on electronic communication and postal markets, on 2017 she was appointed Head of Legal and since September 2021 the Director of the new Directorate of Legal Services of EETT. Her practice in EETT includes both in-house consulting as well as litigation, in telecom and antitrust / merger cases. She has been responsible for legal aspects of market analysis under the EU and national regulatory framework for electronic communications networks and services, as well as various legal aspects of remedy implementation measures in regulated markets including mobile and fixed termination markets. She has also been involved in the monitoring of the enforcement of the roaming regulation and the intra EEA communications regulation. She participates in the European Regulator’s Network (BEREC) in several WGs, and currently is a member of the Vice-Chair's team for 2024. She was a member of several committees responsible for transposition of EU legislation and or secondary legislation (Regulation 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act), Regulation (EU) 2021/784 on addressing the dissemination of terrorist content online, EU Code (Directive 2018/1972/EE), 2002 EU regulatory framework for electronic communication etc) and the legal advisor of EETT’s committee that designed and implemented the proceedings for the award of frequencies used under the 5G wireless communication protocol. She has given visiting lectures to the postgraduate Course of Competition & Regulation, at the Law Faculty of Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as at Turin School of Local Regulation in the ISS on Regulation of Local Public Services. Besides Telecoms, she has been involved in a wide range of antitrust cases across other sectors, as coastal markets and bauxite. She received her Law Degree at the Law School of University of Athens with distinction. She studied European Community Law at the University Robert Schumann of Strasbourg and then at the University of Athens, where she received her Master’s Degree in Law on “European Community and International Law”. She is a Member of the Athens Bar Association since 2000 and a Supreme Court Lawyer since 2011. Besides Greek, she speaks English, French and German. She is married and mother of three children.
