Cory Brader Leuchten

Biography

Cory Leuchten is an Assistant Chief in the Media, Entertainment, and Communications Section in the Antitrust Division in the U.S. Department of Justice. Ms. Leuchten received a B.A. from Cornell University in 2007 and a Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. She joined the Antitrust Division through the Honors Program in 2014 after clerking in the Southern District of New York and the Third Circuit. In January 2021, Ms. Leuchten was selected to serve as a Senior Counsel in the Division’s Front Office. In 2021, she was selected as Assistant Chief in the Media, Entertainment, and Communications section. Ms. Leuchten has worked on a range of merger and conduct investigations, including leading the investigation into Visa’s proposed acquisition of Plaid, which the parties abandoned following the Division’s lawsuit to enjoin the merger. She has broad experience in telecommunications cases. Her experience covers wireless, wireline, programming, and other cases --notable casework includes T-Mobile’s acquisition of Sprint and CenturyLink’s acquisition of Level 3 Communications. She has also presented to several international agencies about telecommunications competition issues, including a multi-day presentation to the Vietnam Telecommunications Authority.
