Biography

Elena Busson has been practising since 1999 in leading international and Italian firms. She joined Chiomenti as a Partner in 2023 and is Co-Head of the Practice Area ‘Energy and Infrastructure’ since 2024. Elena provides legal assistance to industrial operators and private equity funds in M&A and other complex extraordinary transactions, with a focus on regulated sectors (energy & infrastructure). In particular, Elena is recognized by the international legal directories as M&A expert in these sectors, having worked on the most important investment and aggregation operations in the Italian market in the infrastructure sector (both core infra - airports, telecommunication towers, motorways and fibre - and infra like - logistics, maintenance, storage, transport, EV charging) and energy sector (CCGT plants, gas and electricity distribution networks, LNG plants, BEES and renewable energy plants). Elena has also a remarkable experience in assisting international private equity, infra and pension funds in their investment operations in Italy, including assisting such funds in minority transactions or partnerships with Italian entrepreneurs, industrial operators and utilities. Membership in Professional Associations Member of the Florence Bar (Italy), 2002. Education Graduated in Law, Magna cum Laude, University of Florence, 1999. Academic Activities Ph.D. in General Criminal Law from the University of Florence. Visiting researcher at All Souls College (Oxford). Author of several publications on corporate criminal law.
