Jorge Correa
Biography
Jorge Correa is a Partner at Creel, García-Cuéllar, Aiza y Enríquez, S.C., where he specializes in corporate and international tax, with a focus on capital markets, financial products, cross-border structuring, and mergers and acquisitions. In 2019, he was recognized as “Best Tax Rising Star in Latin America” by Euromoney Legal Group, being the first Mexican lawyer to receive this distinction. He is among the leading tax lawyers according to various international publications. He is the author of several publications on tax matters, including books by Thomson Reuters on the Mexico-Canada and Mexico-UK double taxation conventions, as well as on REITs. He holds a law degree from Universidad Anáhuac Mayab and two master’s degrees from Universidad Panamericana: one in Tax Law and the other in Government and Public Policy. In addition, he completed the AD-R senior management program at IPADE Business School. Before joining the private sector, he worked for a decade at the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, where he held key positions as Assistant Deputy Commissioner and Competent Authority. Between 2013 and 2014, he collaborated as a Consultant for the OECD, being the principal drafter of the CRS.
