Biography

Dr. Gregory Hitz is a Swiss entrepreneur and roboticist, renowned for his contributions to AI-enabled robotics. He co-founded Sevensense Robotics in 2018, a company specializing in AI-based 3D vision navigation technology for autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). In January 2024, ABB acquired Sevensense to enhance its leadership in next-generation AI-enabled mobile robotics. Following the acquisition, Gregory transitioned to the role of Business Manager of the unit "Sevensense by ABB," where he continues to drive innovation in AI and 3D vision technologies for autonomous systems Previously, Gregory was a Post Doctoral research fellow at the Autonomous Systems Lab of ETH Zurich, where he led multiple research projects and industry collaborations, focussing on the use of robotics, AI and computer vision technologies for applications in the fields of environmental monitoring, aerial mapping and self-driving cars. Gregory holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a PhD in Robotics from ETH Zurich.
