Janett Fahrenholz

Biography

Dr. Janett Fahrenholz is the Head of the Regulatory Law Department at Volkswagen AG in Germany. Her department is responsible for providing legal advice on regulatory law for Volkswagen AG. The team's areas of expertise include autonomous driving, cyber security, vehicle software implementations, legal compliance of technical features of vehicles but also emissions and CO2 regulations as well as climate litigations. Dr. Fahrenholz' team operates globally. Over the past years Dr. Fahrenholz handled Volkswagen’s complex multi-national Diesel litigations of product liability cases. Dr. Fahrenholz is part of Volkswagen’s Upper Management Circle. Dr. Fahrenholz holds a PhD from the University of Leipzig (Germany) and a Master's Degree in Commercial Law (First Class Honours) from the University of Auckland (New Zealand). She graduated from Leipzig Law School and was admitted to the German Bar in Wiesbaden (with distinction). Prior to working in-house, Dr. Fahrenholz was an associate at Clifford Chance, LL.P, Frankfurt (Germany), concentrating on commercial real estate matters. She also held positions at the Lower Saxonian Ministry of Economics and worked in the legal department of a Dutch gas network operator. Janett was trained at the European Parliament and European Commission in Brussels, Belgium.
