Biography

Gary Clarke, K.C. is a Partner and Co-Head of Stikeman Elliott’s national Employment & Labour Group, as well as the Head of the Employment & Labour Group in Western Canada. His practice encompasses a wide range of areas including employment, labour relations, human rights, and privacy law. Gary provides expert guidance to employers in both unionized and non-unionized settings on various human resources and labour relations matters. Gary holds the designations of Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) and Senior Certified Professional from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). His expertise has been recognized by several prestigious organizations including: as a Band 1 lawyer in Employment and Labour - Alberta by Chambers Canada 2025, listed in Best Lawyers in Canada 2025 for Labour and Employment Law, and in The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory 2024 as a leading lawyer in Employment: Employer and Workplace Human Rights (Employer).
