Lauren Boccardi
Biography
Lauren Boccardi leads the legal team supporting The Nature Conservancy’s impact investment portfolio. Before joining the Conservancy, Ms. Boccardi served at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), where she most recently served as the Deputy Assistant General Counsel for USAID’s Bureau for Food Security and for the Bureau for Democracy, Conflict and Humanitarian Assistance. Her work at USAID covered private sector engagement, impact investing, legislation and policy, and Middle East issues. Prior to USAID, Ms. Boccardi worked on a wide range of corporate transactions as a corporate lawyer at Debevoise & Plimpton, focusing in particular on energy and environmental work. She has worked with various nonprofts, including a women’s group in Oaxaca, Mexico, and was the manager of Communications and Research for an internet software company in New York. Lauren is a graduate of Harvard Law School and earned her master’s degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University. She received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.
