Emmanuel Maalouf

Biography

Emmanuel Maalouf is a dually qualified Australian lawyer and civil engineer with a strong focus on sustainability. He currently serves as the Operations and Sustainability Legal Counsel at Nestlé Headquarters, Switzerland. Prior to joining Nestlé, Emmanuel worked as Legal Counsel for a listed waste management company part of the Macquarie Group in Australia, following earlier law firm experience in construction and insurance litigation. His international background includes work with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva, as well as private engineering consulting assignments in Greece, Denmark, and South Africa. Fluent in English, French, Arabic, and Greek, he holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut, a Master of Environmental Engineering from the University of Melbourne, a Juris Doctor from the University of Sydney, and an LL.M. from the Australian National University. Emmanuel is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales, Australia and is a member of Engineers Australia. In addition to his professional practice, he delivers seasonal lectures on Corporate Sustainability Law at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His recent publication was on the topic of Corporate Environmental Responsibility, including his work "Achieving Corporate Environmental Responsibility Through Emerging Sustainability Laws."
