Biography

Rafael Fernández is Partner of the Insurance and Reinsurance practice at Pérez-Llorca. He is frequently involved in the most relevant transactions and dispute resolution cases related to insurance and reinsurance in Spain, including mergers and acquisitions, regulatory and distribution schemes, dispute resolution and international arbitration cases and reinsurance quota share agreements. Previously, he worked at the legal team of the insurance institution of the World Bank, the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA), and as Vice President Legal Counsel of Swiss Re Europe at the headquarters in Luxembourg. Rafael holds a double degree in Law and Business Administration at Universidad Complutense de Madrid, a LLM with honors at Georgetown Law, is professor of Commercial Law and Corporations at the IE Law School and is member of the Board of the Spanish Insurance Association AJPS.
