Biography

A partner at Cuatrecasas, Mr. Hortalà advises corporate groups with a strong international profile. He specializes in international taxation and transfer pricing, enabling his clients to be taxed in line with their value chain. Mr. Hortalà has extensive experience in tax law. He began his career as a lecturer at the Universitat de Barcelona, and later joined the Spanish administration as State Finance auditor, holding several positions during his nine-year collaboration: coordinator of the double-taxation treaties area (Directorate General for Taxes), from 1994 to 1997, he was the delegate of the Ministry of the Economy and Finance in Working Party 6 of the Committee on Fiscal Affairs-the working group for transfer prices of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), chief inspector of the Barcelona tax authorities, and national expert at the European Commission in Brussels (1997 to 2000). Before joining Cuatrecasas, he was partner at Landwell-PriceWaterhouseCoopers, where he directed the Spanish desk in New York
