Biography

Masako is a partner of Okuno & Partners, an independent mid-sized business firm in Tokyo. She is co-head the firm’s international practice team and supervises the firm’s operation of outbound cross-border transactions for its Japanese clients including both listed companies and SMEs. She also supports foreign companies’ inbound business into Japan, focusing on international M&A, joint ventures and other cross-border commercial transactions as well as their daily legal compliance including information privacy and HR issues. She is an active member of the Center for Promotion of Lawyers’ Gender Equality of the Tokyo Bar Association, and volunteered as its Deputy Secretary General for six years.
