David Estrin
Biography
David Estrin is acknowledged as Canada’s senior environmental law specialist where he has, for over 40 years, practiced exclusively in this area, as well as taught and written widely on the subject. David's major research project with the CIGI International Law Research Program is innovative compensation mechanisms for climate change loss and damage. In 2013-2014 David co-chaired the IBA Presidential Task Force on Climate Change Justice and Human Rights. The Task Force report, Achieving Justice and Human Rights in an Era of Climate Disruption (2014) has been widely commended. David is currently a SEERIL Council member and immediate past chair of the IBA Environment, Health and Safety Law Committee.
