Nawi Ukabiala
Biography
Prior to joining the ICJ as a law clerk Nawi was an associate in Debevoise & Plimpton’s New York office. As a member of the firm’s International Disputes Group he was instructed on investor-State arbitrations, worked on a wide range of public international law issues, and was an active member in the firm’s business and human rights practice. Nawi has also worked as a legal consultant in the Operations Policy Group of the World Bank’s legal department. He holds law degrees from Drake University Law School and NYU School of Law where he was a transitional justice scholar and International Finance and Development fellow.
