Biography

Prof. Hans-Jörg Ziegenhain is a partner with the German law firm Hengeler Mueller specialising in M&A and private equity. Prof. Ziegenhain studied law in Regensburg, New Orleans and Munich. He obtained a PhD in law (LMU Munich) and his LLM from the University of Michigan. He worked with Baker & McKenzie in Frankfurt, Washington, DC and Düsseldorf, and with Freshfields in Munich. He joined Hengeler Mueller in 2006. He has been holding a M&A teaching postion at the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU), Munich, since 2007 and has been awarded the honorary professorship by the LMU in 2014. He has advised numerous German and international corporates, various family businesses and private equity investors on M&A transactions and joint ventures. His most recent transactions include the sale of Douglas by Advent International to CVC, the sale of Siemens Audiology Solutions to EQT, the acquisition of a 20 % stake in Otto Bock HealthCare GmbH by EQT, the sale of FTE Automotive Group by Bain Capital to Valeo and the sale of Siemens' stake in joint venture BSH Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH to Robert Bosch.
