Biography

Prof. Dr Wilhelm Haarmann is a lawyer, a certified public accountant, a certified tax adviser and, since 1 March, 2013, partner of the international law firm Linklaters LLP and has his office in Frankfurt. He mainly advises on tax and company law as well as on corporate transactions and he is active as arbitrator in arbitration proceedings. Until the end of February 2013, Wilhelm Haarmann was name partner of HAARMANN Partner-schaftsgesellschaft, which he founded together with other partners at the beginning of 2006. Before founding HAARMANN Partnerschaftsgesellschaft, he was partner at Haarmann, Hemmel-rath & Partner, which he co-founded in 1987. Before the firm was founded he was working for Ar-thur Young & Co. in Frankfurt (1977 – 1979) and for Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. in Munich (1979 – 1987, from 1983 as partner). Wilhelm Haarmann is a member of the SAP Supervisory Board and was on several other supervi-sory boards previously. He is honorary professor for tax law at the University of Bamberg. Fur-thermore, he is a member of the Executive Board of the International Fiscal Association’s German section and has been a member (1992 – 2015) and chairman (1997 – 2013) of the tax committee of the Institute of Public Auditors in Germany (IDW). From 1993 to 2007 he was a member of the World Economic Forum.
