Biography

Nicola de Giorgi was born in Italy on March 1st 1970. Nicola obtained his law degree from the University “La Sapienza”, Rome. After qualifying as a lawyer, Nicola worked in different law firms from 1996 to 2001. In 2001, Nicola entered the Legal Department of the Bank of Italy, in Rome, and since then he has worked as legal counsel in different fields of expertise notably banking supervision, supervision on payment systems, trials. For seven months, in 2007/2008, Nicola was seconded to and worked in the Legal Department of the European Central Bank. He has written various publications of supervision on payment systems. Nicola has also participated in different working group at international level and, in this respect, he is currently part of the Italian delegation in Working Group I in UNCITRAL, dealing on micro, small and medium sized enterprises.
