Biography

Steve Lehotsky is senior vice president and chief counsel for the U.S. Chamber Litigation Center, the litigation arm of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Lehotsky has extensive government and private sector experience, with a particular focus on regulatory litigation. Before joining the Chamber, Lehotsky practiced law with the international law firm WilmerHale, where he was a member of the Government and Regulatory Litigation, Defense and National Security, and Appellate and Supreme Court litigation practices. His practice focused on litigation and counseling for corporations in the aerospace, defense, pharmaceutical, financial services, telecommunications, and agricultural sectors. Lehotsky also served as an attorney-adviser in the Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) of the U.S. Department of Justice, where he advised executive branch officers on a wide range of constitutional, statutory interpretation, and regulatory issues in the areas of cybersecurity, immigration reform, financial regulation, environmental regulation, economic sanctions, and national security. During the 2009 Term of the Supreme Court of the United States, Lehotsky served as law clerk to Associate Justice Antonin Scalia. He also served as law clerk to Chief Judge Douglas Ginsburg of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit. Prior to his clerkship with Chief Judge Ginsburg, Lehotsky practiced law at Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he received the Sears Prize.
