Financial systems and banking during and after the Covid pandemic: some perspectives

Wednesday 22 September (1600 - 1715)

Description

Financial systems and global banks showed remarkable resilience against the economic impact of the Covid pandemic.  Preliminary data show that the financial reforms that were triggered by the Great Financial Crisis of 2007-09 enhanced the strength and resiliency of financial institutions and enabled them to continue to provide credit and financial intermediation, and to play a key role along with central banks and regulatory agencies, during the pandemic crisis.

This panel of representatives from banks, companies, and regulatory agencies will discuss different perspectives and will provide views on some of the lessons learned, future implications, and policy considerations.
