Biography

​ Michael Delikat, a long-time Band 1 ranked partner in the New York office, was the previous Chair of Orrick's Global Employment Law Practice for over twenty years, which has employment law teams in the European Union, Asia as well as the United States. He also is the founder of the firm’s Whistleblower Task Force. He previously served as the Managing Director of Orrick’s Litigation Division. He currently has an active practice performing sensitive internal investigations, defending whistleblower claims and other high exposure employment claims and advising major corporations and Boards of Directors on ESG, and in particular, DEI and Human Capital Management initiatives and disclosures. Mike is published and quoted frequently on a variety of employment law issues in major academic and business publications and has been a frequent speaker and conference chair at multiple conferences about whistleblower law, DEI/ESG and other subjects. Mike is widely known and well regarded in New York and in national markets for his deep, decades-long banking and financial services industry knowledge, and he is a go-to employment defense lawyer for high exposure matters for major financial services corporations, including AllianceBernstein, Citigroup, MUFG Bank, TIAA and American Express. In addition to the financial services industry, Mike is well known for representing companies in the technology industry including Microsoft, and professional services firms such as Holland & Knight and Wachtell Lipton. Mike is the outgoing management chair of the ABA International Employment Law Committee. He also is an Advisory Board Member of the Harvard Law School Program on Corporate Governance.
