Biography

SAMIR R. GANDHI Member of the Bar Council of Delhi, and Competition Law Bar Association Samir R. Gandhi is a Senior Partner who heads the competition practice at AZB & Partners and deals with a broad range of competition law and policy issues, as well as international trade and World Trade Organisation matters. He advises on all areas of competition law and policy and has previously served as counsel to the Competition Commission of India (CCI). He advises clients on anti-trust enforcement cases and merger notifications in India and counsels them on the use of leniency proceedings as well as antitrust compliance issues. Samir is also actively involved in competition policy issues and works with the CCI and the Indian Government to help formulate and implement competition policy in India. He is involved with the work of the International Competition Network as a non-governmental adviser and was also involved in formulating a framework competition policy for the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan. Samir is a member of the Antitrust Committee of the International Bar Association – where he serves as the Journal Editor, and the American Bar Association, and frequently publishes and speaks about competition law. Samir is listed as a leading competition lawyer in India by Who’s Who Legal, Legal 500 and has been identified by Chambers & Partners as being a “star individual” for competition law in India. He serves on the International Board of Advisors to the Global Antitrust Institute at the George Mason University and is an Honorary Visiting Fellow at the Indian Institute for Corporate Affairs. Samir completed his LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science in the year 2003 and completed his B.A., LL.B.(Hons.) degree from National Law School of India University, Bangalore in the year 1999.
